The Legal Research Library (LRL) is an online, searchable archive of valuable school law resources, many of which are not available anywhere else. Designed for board members, administrators, and school lawyers, the LRL includes:
- A complete collection of TASB School Law Update Newsletters, dating back to 1988
- Full-text decisions from the commissioner of education, dating back to 1995
- Index of all past commissioner decisions, dating back to 1989
- Amicus briefs filed by the TASB Legal Assistance Fund
To access the LRL, you need a subscription.
The subscription year for the LRL runs from July to June. There are two versions of the subscription: one for school districts and one for school attorneys.
LRL School District Rate (including in-house district counsel) for 1-3 subscribers is $600. Additional individuals can be added to the subscription at a rate of $75 per person.
LRL access is available to districts with an Active TASB Membership.
LRL All Pass for Texas Council of School Attorneys Members with Private Law Firms
In addition to the resources specifically for Texas Council of School Attorneys members listed above, CSA members with private law firms that subscribe to the LRL All Pass will receive additional resources, including:
- Access to the TASB CSA Policy Service Governance and Management Library, including searchable online access to the Policy Reference Manual, Model Student Handbook, Model Student Code of Conduct, Policy Alerts, and the Regulations Resource Manual
- Access to the HR Services Library, including model job descriptions, Model Employee Handbook, and the HR Exchange Newsletter
LRL All Pass rates for current CSA members are as follows:
- 1 to 3 school attorneys: $1,500
- 4 to 10 school attorneys: $2,950
- 11 to 20 school attorneys: $4,300
- 21 to 30 school attorneys: $$6,300
- 31 to 40 school attorneys: $7,750
- More than 40 school attorneys: $10,000
