Qualifications & Characteristics
The superintendent, as chief executive officer (CEO), is accountable to the Board of Trustees, which expects the CEO to be the education leader of Junction ISD. The CEO works closely with the Board of Trustees to develop and implement policies and programs designed to carry out the district's mission.
In concert with the staff, students, and the community, the Board of Trustees has identified certain characteristics and qualifications as highly desirable in a CEO:
Positive communicator who listens and motivates others to perform at high levels
Experienced school administrator who understands small, West Texas communities and schools
Open-minded, approachable, people person who is actively involved and visible in all aspects of the school district and community
Decisive leader with a history of responsiveness in a timely manner
Firm, consistent, fair and honest leader not afraid of change
Visionary educator with passion for students, staff, and excellence in all academic and extracurricular aspects of Junction ISD
Family oriented individual with a sense of humor and record of stability
Person of integrity with high moral standards
