Qualifications & Characteristics

The Board of Trustees in cooperation with the staff, parents, and community has identified certain characteristics as being desirable in the superintendent/CEO.

  • Experience with school bond development, the bond election process, and construction management is preferred

  • A strong, experienced administrator with a new perspective, who can provide direction to the district through a collaborative planning process

  • Confident leader with a proven record of building successful teams, improving academic performance, and working collaboratively with different groups

  • "People" person with a sense of humor and easy manner who motivates staff and students to excel by his or her presence, support, and positive example

  • Able to work in partnership with a Board of Trustees and build a climate of candor, mutual trust, and cooperation

  • A creative problem solver who can make the tough decisions and then support those decisions with resources and personal commitment

  • Person of integrity with high moral standards and personal ethics

  • A superior communicator with refined interpersonal skills who is visible, willing to listen and learn, and interacts well with the staff and community
  • Committed to Central ISD for the long term and actively involved in the district and community
