  • Mission

The Board is committed to providing the highest possible quality education for the District's youth. Our children are our finest natural resource -without them, nothing that we have can long endure. We wish them to have the wisdom we have acquired, so they can proceed beyond what we have achieved. We wish to guide them so they will live in harmony with themselves, their family, their community, and their nation. We wish to help them discover their own unique importance, so that they can successfully contribute to our growth as a people.

In Snyder, we believe that the educational process should be a challenging and rewarding experience. Our aim is to prepare each student to function as a knowledgeable, responsible, disciplined adult, able to live purposefully and effectively in a changing society. Moreover, we feel that it is important for our educational system to complement the home in providing guidance, instruction, and individual example of moral and ethical behavior.

We believe that individual achievement is a vital part of the American way of life. To ensure this achievement, our schools through their instructional programs provide the materials and techniques that will develop the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional qualities of each student. We recognize that it is the responsibility of the school to teach the basic elements of our democratic form of government and the free enterprise system. Moreover, each student should be prepared with necessary skills to enter the world of work and to become a contributing member of society.

Finally, we believe in continuous evaluation and constructive change in our educational programs to meet the challenges of the future. Through selecting and validating educational goals, and through drawing on community and professional thought, we can continue to strive for excellence throughout public school education in Snyder.
