Teague ISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 30, the Teague ISD Board of Trustees named Nate Carman as the district’s new superintendent. Carman most recently served as the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in Pine Tree ISD. He began his career as a teacher in Farmington, New Mexico, and later moved to Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. In addition, Carman has served as assistant principal in Lewisville ISD, principal in Wilmer-Hutchins ISD, and director of mathematics Grand Prairie ISD.
Carman will report to the district May 20.
Robstown ISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 24, the Robstown ISD Board of Trustees named Maria Vidaurri as the district’s new superintendent. Vidaurri recently served as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in La Feria ISD. She began her career in Alice ISD, where she served as a teacher, instructional coordinator, assistant principal, and principal. She moved to Hidalgo ISD and held various positions before becoming the federal programs director at Sharyland ISD.
Vidaurri reported to the district April 25.
Meridian ISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 18, the Meridian ISD Board of Trustees named John Horak as the district’s new superintendent. Most recently, Horak served as superintendent in Wilson ISD. He began his career in Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD where he served as teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Horak also served as a leadership consultant at the Region 18 Education Service Center.
Horak will report to the district June 1.
Dilley ISD Hires Executive Search Services
On April 22, the Dilley ISD Board of Trustees voted to hire TASB Executive Search Services (ESS) to conduct a search for a new superintendent. Details of this search will appear on the ESS Web Site.Brownfield ISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 16, the Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees named Tanya Monroe as the district’s new superintendent. Monroe recently served as superintendent in Memphis ISD. She began her career as a teacher in Borger ISD and later moved to Highland Park ISD, where she was director of curriculum and instruction, principal, and assistant principal.
Monroe will report to the district June 3.
Marion ISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 11, the Marion ISD Board of Trustees named Edna Davis-Kennedy as the district’s new superintendent. Davis-Kennedy most recently served as the superintendent in Oglesby ISD. She began her career as a special education teacher, a position she held in Sonora, Marble Falls, Dublin, San Angelo, and McKinney ISDs. She moved on to serve as a special education associate psychologist in Garland ISD. In addition, Davis-Kennedy has served as assistant principal/counselor in Burnet CISD and director of the Heart of Texas Special Education Cooperative.
Davis-Kennedy will report to Marion ISD May 6, and her contract with the district begins July 1.
Pleasant Grove ISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 9, the Pleasant Grove ISD Board of Trustees named Todd Williams as the district's new superintendent. Williams most recently served as superintendent in Kaufman ISD. Williams's career began in Anson ISD, where he served as a teacher/coach. From there, he joined Crandall ISD to serve as assistant principal. He also worked in Scurry-Rosser ISD as a principal and Martin's Mill ISD as superintendent.
Williams has reported to the district.
Fort Elliott CISD Hires New Superintendent
On April 10, the Fort Elliott CISD Board of Trustees named Jeff Dyer as the district’s new superintendent. Dyer previously served as the high school principal in Iola ISD. He began his career as a special education teacher/coach, a position he held in Farmersville ISD, Huntsville ISD, and Anderson-Shiro CISD.
Dyer will report to the district July 1, 2013.
