Governance Camp, Powered by Student Voice
Why Attend Governance Camp
Governance Camp is a one-of-a-kind conference for board members to reflect, recharge, and reimagine governance through the lens of student voice. It is designed for school board members, superintendents, and education leaders looking to deepen their governance knowledge and connect with peers.
Step out of the everyday and into an experience designed to challenge, inspire, and connect. Governance Camp is the only conference where students present to and alongside Texas trustees, superintendents, and education leaders. It is where districts come together to learn, collaborate, and grow.
Through dynamic student-led sessions, innovative demonstrations, and the highly anticipated Student Voice Scholarship Panel, you will gain fresh perspectives that spark meaningful change. With a camp-style focus on group learning, shared discovery, and exploring new ideas together, Governance Camp feels less like a traditional conference and more like a retreat for leaders ready to explore new trails and discover fresh perspectives together, all from the comfort of A/C.
Join trustees, superintendents, education leaders, and students from across Texas for an immersive learning experience designed to strengthen leadership, amplify student voice, and drive positive changes in public education.
In 2026, attendees:
- Heard from inspiring keynote speakers
- Engaged with the first-ever Teacher Voice Panel
- Experienced a full day dedicated to Student Voice with student-led sessions and demos
In 2027, we’re raising the bar even higher — with more opportunities to collaborate, innovate, and lead.
Continuing Education Credit Update
On behalf of the Texas Association of School Boards, we want to make you aware that not all sessions offered at Governance Camp may be eligible for continuing education credit due to a new State Board of Education (SBOE) rule.
The SBOE approved new board training rules that require each individual to become a registered provider of training credit. In the past, presenters were able to offer credit for their sessions under the umbrella of registered organizations like TASB. This new requirement took effect Aug. 25, 2025. For questions regarding CEC, email CEC@tasb.org.
We will be accepting a wide variety of sessions to support your growth as a trustee, and we're confident that you will be able to craft a schedule that meets your minimum training credit requirements. Thank you for your understanding as we comply with this new state rule.
Visit CECRS for general information about training requirements and resources.
