TASB Overview

Membership Categories

TASB offers three levels of membership in the Association:

Active members 

Active members consist of Texas public school districts and education service center boards. Active members have voting privileges in the Association and may participate in all of TASB's services.

Annual membership dues for Active members are recommended by the TASB Board and approved by TASB's Delegate Assembly. The dues year of the Association is January 1 through December 31. Contact ()  at 800-580-8272 or 512-467- 0222 for specific dues information.

Associate members

Associate members consist of educational cooperatives, junior or community colleges, and county appraisal districts. These organizations may participate in TASB's services, but they have no voting privileges in the Association and are not eligible to hold office in TASB.

Affiliate members

TASB Affiliate memberships allow individuals, corporations, organizations, foundations, and other entities interested in public education in Texas to participate in TASB activities and reap certain Association benefits.

Area School Board Associations (No Fee)

• Organizational and bylaws assistance
• Speakers for meetings
• Specialized mailing label lists
• Web hosting and design assistance 

Former School Board Members $25

• Access to Texas Lone Star articles via the Web
• Member rates on publications and meeting registrations
• Secured internet access to:
      School Board Advocacy Network
      Leadership TASB discussion area, if applicable
      Other specialized areas, as they are developed

Organizational/Individual Affiliates $100
(charter schools, other entities, etc.)

• Subscription to Texas Lone Star
• Member rates on publications and meeting registrations (one individual's registration for convention at member rate)

Business Affiliate Members $400
(vendors, etc.)

• Subscription to Texas Lone Star ($36 value)
• Member rates on publications and meeting registrations (multiple registrations for convention at member rate)
• Name, address, and product name listing on Web site all year
• Printed listing annually in Texas Lone Star magazine
