Hanan Elected to State Association Board
Austin— Angie Hanan of Fort Bend ISD has been elected to a two-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4, Position G. The election was held during the Association’s 2024 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 28 in San Antonio.
Hanan was first elected to the Fort Bend ISD (FBISD) Board in 2020 and was reelected in May 2023.
She earned a bachelor’s from Oklahoma State University and completed graduate work at the University of Houston. Hanan taught in Houston-area school districts for six years before joining FBISD in 1997 as a classroom and specialized reading teacher. Hanan also served as a literacy coach and the district's English as a second language coordinator.
In 2006, she started her own educational consulting business, Hanan Educational Resources, providing consultation to districts and campuses in the areas of teacher training, instructional coaching, and program improvement.
Hanan is currently focusing her time on community volunteerism, including her role as a trustee. She is a member of the executive board of Destination Imagination (Gulf Coast Region) and a longtime board member for the Fort Bend Association of Parents for Academic Excellence (PACE).
