Salary Survey Updates

TASB HR Services has released data from the TASB/TASA Superintendent Survey and provided an update regarding mid-year increases and the District Personnel Salary Survey.

TASB/TASA Superintendent Salary Survey

Data from the 2024-2025 TASB/TASA Superintendent Survey is now available in TASB HRDataSource™.

To view superintendent survey data, log into HRDataSource, choose Salary and FTE Reports, then Superintendent Pay. Select the criteria for the report. The report will display in the browser, and it can be searched as well as downloaded in PDF or Excel.

This year’s participation tied with last year at 754 responses! Thank you to all who took time out of their day to complete the survey. Findings from the survey responses include:

  • District characteristics:
    • Median student enrollment: 1,104
    • Interim superintendents: 26 (3 percent, consistent with last year)
  • Superintendent characteristics:
    • Median years as a superintendent: 4 (slightly below last year)
    • Working in first superintendency: 510 (68 percent, slightly above last year)
    • Working in fourth superintendency or more: 21 (3 percent, slightly above last year)
    • Retired and returned to a superintendency: 40 (5 percent, consistent with last year)

Mid-Year Increases and the District Personnel Salary Survey

If your district is considering mid-year pay increases, such as a pay increase contingent on passage of a voter-approval tax rate election (VATRE), we still recommend submitting your District Personnel Survey as usual this fall. This ensures the data is available in HRDataSource and is accurate in case pay increases are not approved. The deadline to submit surveys has passed, but if you need more time, contact us at salary.survey@tasb.org or 800-580-7782 to discuss your situation.

If your board approves an increase later this year, please email us at the address above once you have implemented it in your system and we will provide a file to enter updates for the survey.

Ongoing and Future Surveys
