Wanted: HR Mentors

At the 2024 HR Academy and Advanced HR Seminar, TASB HR Services solicited new participants for HR Mentorship Connections, a program designed to connect novice HR staff with experienced HR professionals willing to serve as mentors.

Participants were surveyed to identify interest in participating either as a mentee or mentor. The majority of respondents want to be assigned a mentor. As a result, we’re in the process of recruiting additional experienced HR staff to serve as mentors.

As a mentor, an individual is expected to provide support on an as-needed basis via phone and email. To qualify as a mentor, you will need to have the following:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in school district human resources
  • The willingness to share best practices and your own lessons learned in solving HR-related problems
  • The capacity to provide resources to acclimate the new HR staff member to their role

If interested, please complete the HR Mentorship Connection survey. Completing the survey serves as consent to share your contact information with other participants. The survey will be open until Friday, December 20, 2024. For more information, email hrservices@tasb.org or call HR Services at 800-580-7782.
