This class addresses areas defined in the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) regulations for those responsible for the school’s asbestos program. Topics covered include asbestos detection, identification, and assessment; health effects associated with asbestos exposure; control options; relevant federal and state regulations; and management plan components. This class satisfies the current training requirements put forth in AHERA for Asbestos Designated Person training. Although there are currently no refresher requirements, it is a good idea to repeat this class every few years to keep relevant asbestos issues and requirements fresh on you mind.
