TASB Media Honor Roll

Journalists play a valuable role in public education. The TASB Media Honor Roll was created to recognize these individuals and media outlets for reporting fair, accurate, and balanced stories on our schools. School districts nominate their local media representatives for this award each year. 

TASB recognizes media representatives in three categories: print, radio, and television.

Criteria for honorees include the following:

• Make the effort to get to know the superintendent, board president, and district’s mission and goals 
• Report school news in a manner that is fair, accurate, and balanced 
• Highlight positive developments in schools
• Visit campuses in the district
• Maintain a policy of no surprises by sharing information with school representatives
