Gallup State of the Global Workplace 2024
Gallup’s 2024 State of the Global Workplace report provides data from employees around the world regarding employee mental health, the role of economics and policy in the wellbeing of workers, and the role of the manager in worker wellbeing and organizational performance.
The Gallup report captures a snapshot of employee satisfaction from a variety of jobs and industries. While these careers have diverse day-to-day operations, trends still emerge to represent the varying impacts that employment has on all workers.
Armed with this data, employers in all fields can make conscious, relevant decisions for the wellbeing of their employees, departments, and organizations.
More than 128,000 employees from 160 countries responded to the survey. Key findings from this year’s report include:
- Globally, 23 percent of employees considered themselves engaged in their roles, while 33 percent of United States and Canadian employees reported feeling this way.
- Organizations with engaged managers are more likely to have a greater number of engaged employees.
- Employees with higher levels of engagement are more likely to feel increased hope for the future.
- Engaged employees translate to improved organizational outcomes, including profit, retention, and customer service.
- Internationally, 20 percent of employees report feeling lonely in their job on a daily basis.
