Gooch Reelected to State Association Board
Austin— Linda Gooch of Sunnyvale ISD has been reelected to a three-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 10, Position B. The election was held during the Association’s 2022 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 24 in San Antonio.
Gooch is in her ninth consecutive term on the Sunnyvale ISD (SISD) board and currently serves as vice-president. She has represented Region 10 as a member of the TASB Legislative Advisory Council. She is a member of TASB’s School Board Advocacy Network and the National School Boards Association’s Federal Relations Network.
In her district, she currently works with the SISD Alumni Association. She also has been active with the Sunnyvale Education Foundation, where she has served as a board member and as president, and the Sunnyvale PTA as the volunteer coordinator. She was a nine-year coach for one of Sunnyvale’s award-winning Destination Imagination teams. She is a lifetime member of the Raider Pride Booster Club. She is active in the growth and development of Sunnyvale, having helped draft the town’s first charter and serving on the Town of Sunnyvale Home Rule Committee.
Gooch has been recognized with several awards, including the United States Presidential Volunteer Service Award, the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree (the highest honorary membership awarded by Texas FFA Association), and the Morgan Stanley Volunteer Service Award.
Professionally, Gooch is vice-president for Morgan Stanley.
