Guidry Elected to State Association Board

Austin— Myrna Guidry of Houston ISD has been elected to a one-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 4, Position D. The election was held during the Association’s 2022 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 24 in San Antonio.

Guidry joined the Houston ISD Board of Education in December 2020. She currently serves as assistant secretary.

She has been an attorney in Houston for 20 years, concentrating on family and probate law. She also has worked as a mediator for several years and continues to serve as an adjunct law professor in mediation at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Guidry has received several honors, including being named among the 10 Best Attorneys by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2017. 

Guidry earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University, followed by her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston. She holds numerous accreditations in mediation services.

In addition to her professional work, Guidry volunteers with civic and charitable organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Houston Volunteer Lawyers, and the Star of Hope with Miles Ministry.
