Standard Mileage Rates for 2025

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued the 2025 standard mileage rates effective January 1.

The updated rates include a 3 cents per mile increase for business use. The standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup, or panel truck are:

  • 70 cents per mile driven for business use
  • 21 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces (no change)
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations (no change)

The rates apply to electric, hybrid-electric, gasoline, and diesel-powered vehicles.
