Superintendent Survey Highlights Released
Statewide data highlights from the 2023-2024 TASB/TASA Superintendent Salary Survey have been released.
Highlight data comes from 736 district participants representing 72 percent of districts in Texas. The data included 30 interim and three part-time/non-interim superintendents who have been excluded from the analysis.
Of responding districts:
- Median superintendent salary is $150,000, which is 0.7 percent higher than the median last year.
- Median pay increase was 3 percent; increases were granted to 78 percent of returning superintendents.
- The least common benefits are long-term disability and TRS service credit purchases (only about 1 percent of participating districts).
- The most common benefits are health insurance (88 percent of participating districts) and dues for membership to organizations/clubs (59 percent of participating districts).

Billingsley attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, graduating with a degree in economics.
