This document illustrates the relationships that violate Texas nepotism laws (Tex. Gov’t Code, Ch. 573). Consanguinity or blood relations, and affinity or marriage relations, are depicted in first, second, and third degree relationships to help determine whether the district may hire a public official’s relative.
