Governmental Relations Grassroots Meetings
Make your voice heard and help develop TASB’s legislative priorities. Registration opens mid-November.
TASB’s grassroots process begins the formation of its Advocacy Agenda Priorities, which will guide the Association’s work during the 90th Legislative Session. During this grassroots meeting, trustees will determine the legislative issues of greatest importance to their region. Those regional priorities are then developed into statewide priorities by the TASB Legislative Advisory Council (LAC) and later considered and adopted by TASB’s Delegate Assembly.
During this meeting, trustees will elect their regional representatives to the LAC, which will meet twice in 2026 to review all regional priorities and make recommendations to the TASB Board for adoption by the Delegate Assembly.
There will be an opportunity to participate in the meeting virtually, but trustees are strongly encouraged to attend their region’s grassroots meeting in person and must be physically present to be elected to the LAC and to be eligible for a special drawing for a $1,000 student scholarship. Thank you to our sponsors: the TASB Risk Management Fund, BuyBoard, and the TASB Energy Cooperative.
Due to new rules adopted by the Texas State Board of Education, TASB cannot provide continuing education credit for sessions that may involve political advocacy.
This meeting is free to attend, is open to trustees and superintendents, and includes dinner at no cost.
