DOL Launches Unemployment Fraud Website

Typing on laptop computer

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has launched a website dedicated to helping people understand unemployment insurance identity theft and how and where to report fraud.

The new DOL website, also available in Spanish, provides steps to help victims address issues related to previous identity theft and to report theft of unemployment benefits. The site consolidates information from multiple federal and state agencies to pool resources and ensure clarity.

In addition to reporting unemployment identity theft and unemployment insurance fraud, the website also covers:

  • Signs that you may be a victim of unemployment identify theft
  • Penalties for unemployment insurance fraud
  • Unemployment insurance accuracy data

For more information on the topic, check out the recent DOL News Release.
